A 4o-year History of Service
1978: Born and raised in Richmond, VA, Frank Paul has always been a hard worker. After his time in the Marines and several years of working for other remodeling companies in the Richmond, VA area, Frank, with help from his wife Susan, decided to start his own home improvement and exterior remodeling company… Lonestar Aluminum! The name “Lonestar” reflected the fact that he spent many days working alone due to unreliable helpers.
1981: Official year of incorporation!
1986: Changed name to Lonestar Construction Co. because services now included building homes from the ground up. Lonestar built houses for a few years but Frank ultimately decided to get back to our core services of siding, windows and other exterior finishes.
1999: Frank & Susan’s son, Greg Paul, started working for Lonestar full time while simultaneously pursuing a criminal justice degree at VCU. Upon completion of his education, Greg decided to continue working in the family business rather than going into law enforcement.
2008 – Greg became part owner of Lonestar with his parents. Changed name to Lonestar Siding & Windows!
2019 – After much searching and thoughtful consideration, Greg sold the business to Bo Gray. Bo spent many years working in the field and running a successful home building business right here in Richmond. Bo shares the same core values, focus, vision and passion for customer service as Greg and Frank, making this a seamless and natural transition. Bo will continue to grow and evolve the business, while staying true to the long standing roots and family values the name “Lonestar” has stood for since 1978.

Through a lot of hard work and determination, the Paul family and now the Gray family developed Lonestar Siding & Windows into one of the most successful and respected exterior remodeling companies in Central Virginia.
